A cure for the cozy:

Design is in me. It's what I live and breathe...and get out of my cozy bed for each dark and cold morning (that and a warm cup of coffee...in a carefully chosen mug, I might add). It hails from my architect father and his brilliant designs (really...I am always amazed), and my artist mother who's a master sewer/quilter/crafty-thing in general (if only I had that same knack). Anyway, their love for the arts has transpired to me, who meticulously compiles desktop folders of carefully-edited inspiration in all forms (so much for having a cute background photo).  And this is just one of those folders-- rooms of coziness and warmth, that I want to be in...and spend all my time in...and recreate....someday, that one day, that we are homeowners.

So...here's to your Tuesday being perfectly cozy and full of inspiration.
Mine certainly is :)

HAPPY 2011.

I know what you mean about design being in you. I have found that looking at the world through the eye of design seems to make the simple and even ugly things around me seem gorgeous in their own way. We are literally on the same page with a couple of these inspirations. I have saved several of the same images, my favorite being the third down which I do not remember the source for either. I am mildly obsessed with that painting above the fireplace based on Wyeth's famous piece. Glad you are enjoying the espresso machine. Thought you might enjoy this video. I think its beautiful.

Alex--I totally agree. I love pic #3 in its entirety--especially the combination of crisp, white walls, a black fireplace, and a cozy leather chair. That, to me, is idyllic! The PERFECT room for cozy-ing up in. And thanks so much for sharing the video--it's stunning. Where did you find it?! Also, I'm assuming Myas got his biz cards--did they go over well? Thanks for reading...I love your comments and the finds you share!

P.S. I LOVE intelligentsia. Not just their coffee...but the packaging of it (such a sucker for great design). The Bagel Shop and Hope & Union brew it! Coffee date for sure when you move back to Charles :)

Of course my dear, a coffee date for sure! I love hope & union and it was right around the corner from my very "interesting" summer accommodations. Not sure where I stumbled across that video. I really should get better about notating these things! And by the way I just ordered those same UO wedges in black! Can't wait to get them.
